What is the point of saying this?? Does he wish more people were shot? Why try to raise racial tensions?

Plus we all know black people were not shot all summer during riots

This is meant to divide

beyond shameful

Either it will happen, or he will be impeached and actually removed this time. Both might actually happen. Another choice, although one I think is a little more unlikely, is that Trump resigns.

Do we actually expect this to happen within 13 days?

Interesting point.

Should the House advance impeachment, Trump is neutered in pardoning those involved in yesterdays riots.
DC not being a state, it is governed by federal government thereby subject to federal pardons.
pardons are limited when they involve an impeachment.
////

If trump is impeached for inciting a riot in DC he can not pardon his "base" or Don Jr or Rudy

Federal pardons also do not apply to cases of impeachment. ... One limitation to the president's power to grant pardons is "in cases of impeachment." This means that the president cannot use a pardon to stop an officeholder from being impeached, or to undo the effects of an impeachment and conviction.

we'll see

As always there is politics. My guess is the Dems would like to put their Republican colleagues in the position of having to vote yeah or nay on impeachment.

It's unnecessary at this point. It would be better to lower the temperature.

The 25th amendment is de facto in effect.

The House could pass articles impeach in a day and deliver them to the Senate tomorrow.

A lot of reasons why

There is a distinction between 1) the mob that stormed the Capitol and 2) their families and acquaintances, as well as other people who support Trump

it is silly to say wanting holding group 1 to account implies persecuting people in group 2

Not when reasonable people are tacitly approving of name and shaming to the world by pretending that a Twitter post to make someone famous is in anyway equivalent to contacting the authorities. That's encouraging mobs to show up at his house. Where that family is.

Oh I think there is a strong case for going forward with impeachment.

But I think there is a better case to just let the clock run out.

From a political point of view, we have those 100 plus people who voted to toss Arizona's votes out. They have cast their lot with the insurrectionists. And they will stick to their guns in the event of an impeachment. If it gets to the Senate, I think McConnell will let the clock run out to protect his members from having to take a vote. I'm assuming it will take a week or so for Georgia to certify the results. So McConnell would remain majority leader a little longer.

It's blatant dishonesty, but it panders to the correct people so he won't be called out on it. The US is now the hyphe nation. There can only be justice after there's equity, and so forth.

I've been told that Trump.is first president who doesn't want to unite.

This is blatantly divisive. Using a hypothetical to enrage people.
