Espn power rankings:

14. Atlanta Braves

Record: 20-23
Previous ranking: 15

What's wrong with Atlanta? Is it all injury-related? So far, the Braves have not shown the same kind of mojo they displayed in previous seasons. They're down more than a run per game from last year with Freddie Freeman, Dansby Swanson and Ehire Adrianza among those who have struggled. -- Rogers

Lol Adrianza is struggling?

“As we would say in my family, we don't name call, but some of his mannerisms are those of an asshole”

There’s definitely a prick involved.

lol yeah...I'm sure they meant to put Ozuna

It would be a little panicky, but I wonder if AA would consider trading for another corner guy and moving Acuna back to CF in an effort to just bludgeon teams to death until the pen gets its' *hit together? Not sure whether there's enough to matchup with the O's in a Santander deal or not, but as a switch-hitter he'd help balance the offense.

Acuna, Freeman, Ozuna, Albies, Riley, Santander, Contreras, Dansby

If they'd take Heredia back in the deal, fine - if not, you DFA him and make Ender a full-time 4th OF.

Just not sure they'd give up the pieces it would take (and not sure they'd take Wright either).

What are the opinions on Tampa Bay trading Adames and Richards to the Brewers for Feyereisen and Rasmussen? I thought Adames would net more, but I imagine Feyereisen and Rasmussen will now be totally lights-out for the Rays.

Adames’ home and road splits are extremely pronounced. Basically, he hit like a below replacement level player at home and like an All-Star on the road. He apparently had problems picking up the ball at Tropicana. Maybe getting away from there and especially into a hitter’s park will help him live up to the billing he had as a prospect.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Dodgers calling up Nate Jones... watch them turn him into a reliable late inning relief option...

Actually more surprising that he didn't turn into that here - if there's an organization that tends to back into those flyer veteran pen arm types more than the Braves I'd be pretty surprised. Can't expect every one of them to work out, but we've had a pretty impressive track record of lucking into those guys fairly consistently.

I think what our clear and obvious weakness is failure to adapt to these new rules. The extra inning rule alone makes me think how many games would we have won under old rules.

Then there is the 3 hitter minimum for RP. A weak bullpen can be somewhat shielded if you mix and match, but having inconsistent guys facing 3 hitters minimum have cost us.

Those 2 along with injuries are why we are 21-24.

You haven't been following the game threads have you?

It is because Snitker doesn't know how to manage with the new rules ;-)

Why would we possibly be DFAing Heredia? He’s been hitting great he’s passable in the OF and a 5 man bench is really needed with Panda on the roster anyway. 13 pitchers is enough.

I like Ketel Marte he multiple positions with a cheap contract.
