Shift Leader
AA needs to fire snitker. He can blame the awful start, and say he wants to make a move toward a more analytical approach.
No way the Braves let him.

Like the players? They've lost the right to have any input
No, the organization.
Well I have to admit, the optics would be horrible. Only the hardcores would understand why it was the correct move
Snitker only needs to be fired if he’s refusing to make the correct moves despite access to the necessary information. If he’s not being informed of the optimal moves, then that falls on AA and the front office.

As usual, the manager gets all the blame, and when we are mad we lose we call for the managers head?
It's tired.
Fire Cox, Fire Fredi, Fire Snit.
Bla Bla Bla.
Braves now have a 6.62 ERA when allowing the starters face a lineup the third time through. 5th worst in baseball.
Seems like Smyly may have benefitted pretty well monetarily from some goop on his glove in SF.
If the Braves signed him based off an increase in velocity and spin rate, and didn’t know he was using a foreign substance, then they are truly inept.
Drew Smyly has an impressive 8.68 ERA and .417 WOBA against the 3rd time through the order. But that guy feeling ya know...
Clearly he is now a 4-inning guy, but do you shell out that kind of dough for a 4-inning guy? We're going to simply start piggy-backing him with a multi-inning guy or the bullpen will be shot by the All-Star break.
I'm not going to defend Snitker's inability to recognize when the guy is done for the night and I've always subscribed to pitch counts over how many times a guy goes through the order (although an elevated pitch count and third-time-through do coincide). When it comes to Smyly, it was a measure of ineptitude to sign him at the amount signed and continued ineptitude on his subsequent use.
