I had pretty high hopes for Gamel. If healthy, he would have been the kind of over-qualified bench bat championship-caliber teams have. He's probably just too far gone at this point to salvage as a big league player.
Who gets that roster spot now? Mejia? We have all spring to figure that out I suppose.

The one thing that concerns me going forward is that Wren keeps stating that Laird is some amazing back up catcher in all the interviews he does. Laird doing anything but occasionally backing up Gattis would kind of suck.
