Trades/acquisitions

In the last 10 minutes, Atlanta has completely remade its outfield. First it got Eddie Rosario from Cleveland and now it’s acquiring Adam Duvall from Miami for Alex Jackson. These aren’t splashes. The cost isn’t high. But the Braves are getting better. How will NL East respond?

LMAO

They will respond...

with a yawn.

Maybe with these massive upgrades the Braves can have as many wins as losses. Hats off to AA for making a hard charge towards mediocrity.

Picturing opposing front offices getting word of the Duvall and Rosario trades and freaking the hell out, literally pressing big red buttons that say "PANIC" and set off sirens.

Underwhelming

You may as well as sold and gotten what you could unless you promised Morton you wouldn't trade him when you signed him.

Current playoff odds are 10 percent. Does Duvall/Rosario even push this to 15%?

Pederson and Duvall both have mutual options for 2022 -- Joc at 10 million and Duvall at 7 million. Would you pick up one or both? I'd have to think both guys would lock in because they likely won't get that much on the market.

To be fair, we might be within two games if Duvall hadn’t murdered us with Miami this season. Going to tough to swallow though when the Mets or Phillies add actual pieces today. But everyone can rest assured we didn’t give up anything other than a bad catcher and free hugs.

Bowman: The Braves have talked to the Cubs about Kimbrel. They've strengthened their outfield with Duvall and bolstered their bench with Rosario, who should be healthy w/in the next couple weeks. Adding Kimbrel, Iglesias or another high-leverage reliever could still happen.

When is Rosario supposed to be back? He only played a game or 2 this season, but he mashed rhp last year (132 wRC+)

The moves don't really make a ton of sense to me. Of course, I'm not a Duvall guy in the least and I think everyone here knows that. He will play every day and he really has to do that to be valuable. We just got Pederson and now we're picking up Rosario?

Best of luck to Alex Jackson. There still might be something there. Not a lot, but I think he can be a contributor somewhere.
