The border policy under Biden hasn’t been what I wanted, but this is a slightly misleading framing, at least as I read it. The article states that this figure includes minors that were released into the care of family members. The 1 in 3 lost sounds like a humanitarian crisis, but it’s really just children who are now with their family in many cases.
I’d have a look at Trump’s approval ratings over the past few years. It might be informative in determining how Biden won.
You want to compare the two when one gets hit with fake collusion investigations and a never endling onslaught from fake news institutions. Should we list the fake news that negatively impacted Trumps views to Americans?
The 81M is a fake number. Nobody craters like this if they have a true base. Look at his independent numbers.
Fun fact: whether you believe Trump was guilty or not of the things he was accused of, the perception would lead to voting habits that might favor Joe Biden. Those things don’t just go away when someone is in the voting booth choosing.
But those approval ratings came from voters. Whether you believe Trump’s approval rating was fair or not is irrelevant to the fact that it was lower than Biden’s. That you think Trump was screwed over doesn’t make the vote counts more suspicious.
Or it could be that independents that otherwise lean Republican but hated Trump didn’t actually become Democrats and don’t approve of Biden.

But this is only (perhaps, I’ve not looked it up) true right now. Trump being more popular than Biden in September of 2021 is potentially a bad sign for Democrats in 2022 and 2024. It does not mean he was more popular than Biden in 2020, when the election occurred and therefore is not an argument for voter fraud.
