Around the League - 2021 Szn

I know. But I'll take Scherzer and the Dodgers lineup against anyone the Cards/Reds/Padres can put up.

I was talking with a coworker that if it was us vs LA, I'd almost prefer to get into a one gamer with them. Over 5 or longer I don't see how we could hang.

So how amusing is that the SF Giants, with a payroll $100,000,000 less than the Doyers, are longstriding toward the pennant, leaving Los Doyers with a play-in game to advance?

Jajajajajajajajaja

Scherzer in the play-in game, then they can roll out any of Urias/Buehler/Kershaw in the first 2 games, then Scherzer and one of those for Game 4 if neccessary. Dodgers are just too deep to beat in a series. The play-in is the only way they dont make it b/c weird **** could happen in one game. But if they clear that, i dont see how they lose a series if healthy.

Agree. But even if they're two-thirds likely to win a play in game, that means they're 1/3 likely to lose it. Weird **** happens in one game, as you point out. I think that'd be funny as hell.

I expected Los Doyers to run Los Gigantes down by now, but Los Gigantes are not cooperating. And the Giants have an easy go of it this weekend. ;)

Has any team been more disappointing than the Padres? That's a lot of moves and money to end up .500.

And much of the media is still touting Tatis as MVP.

There are no great options for NL MVP.

Harper and Tatis have been the best position players(and that's subjective) but are on teams that may not make the playoffs.

Trea Turner has been about as good but played most of his season on a ****ty team before going to LA.

Soto is still on said ****ty team.

Muncy has been the best player on the Dodgers and they are walking into the playoffs. But he's fallen off and several players are better than him.

With no clear favorite among the hitters I would go with Burnes as MVP/Cy Young. Looking at WAR he's been by far the best player in the NL. If there is a year for a pitcher to win it then it would be this year.
