So we at least know what it’ll cost to get Olson. FF sees the tweet about it to I’m sure. AA has given his best offer imo, now the ball is in FF court. AA can’t wait around forever.

Something I didn't know is that Scherzer is one of the big player reps for MLBPA. I wonder if he felt pressure to take the biggest offer on the table like Glavine once did?
Luckily I just had dental surgery yesterday or that tweet would give me indigestion. But I am starting to believe despite what he says he wants to be in California and just wants the Braves to be the villain for fans.
It seems like they're still dreaming on the highly rated prospect Arcia was. At that price for a backup infielder I am okay with it. Especially if it means I don't have to watch Camargo flail anymore.

For those interested in Matthew Boyd...he was non-tendered by the Tigers
Was just about to post this. I think he could be a good recipient of Smyly's money.
Just looked into it. He's out until the middle of the season at the earliest due to a torn flexor tendon. He looks busted.
Damn. Didn't realize he was already slated to miss that much time. He'd probably have to agree to something more like the Kirby Yates contract to make it worthwhile.
Olson has been an obvious backup plan to Freeman ever since it became known the As would be selling, and they are very close in projected value.
Freeman 2022 projections: .291/.389/.512, 4.5 fWAR
Olson 2022 projections: .259/.361/.523, 4.6 fWAR
Freeman will be 32 and cost ~$30M per year for the next 5+ years.
Olson will be 28 and cost ~$30M total over the next 2 years plus a haul of prospects.
If the As overvalue some of the Braves MLB-ready mediocre players, then there is definitely a case to be made that Olson is the way to go.
Why is it taking so long to see who has or hasn’t been tendered?
The Braves have non-tendered Richard Rodriguez, per source.
