I don't know if you've ever shopped at a Wal-Mart, but it's common for shelves to look kind of like that even before COVID. I stopped shopping there years ago because it'd be days for them to stock anything.
As for the other stuff, I go grocery shopping three times a week. If one grocery store is out of something I want, I simply just... drive to the next one and get it there. Two days later I go back to the store that was out... and suddenly they have it in-stock again. We're really bitching about some first world problems here.
I went to my nearest Kroger Friday, out of eggs all across the board, every brand or color.
I went back after I did my tennis lessons on Saturday evening, crates and crates and crates of eggs.

i really should have gone there when i was in china
unfortunately the us gov't has made it illegal for me to visit now
the not being able to go where i want deterred me from going then and still would be annoying but getting behind that curtain to see it on the ground would be crazy
