2024 Field

Trumps going to have to step out of the way if he feels the need to 'trash' Desantis who is the heir apparent to bring the country back to prominence.

I don’t buy the Trump back chatter. Anyone can and has made that up for years.

Nothing would help the left more than to have in fighting between Trump and Desantis.

I think the 2024 nomination process goes smoothly with everyone acknowledging that Trump won in 2020 and therefore the people still want him in the oval office. Then Desantis can run the country from 2028-2036.

Trump's ego is his number one concern... he is happy to take down DeSantis if he feels he's losing the popularity contest.

Trump needs to go away

Like Tapate said - I'd be wary of anonymous sources. The Democrats know they are headed towards a bloodbath so they need to try and divide republicans.

I get the desire to move on from Trump but I don't think the majority of the GOP voters are ready to do so.

It speaks to how barren the field of qualified candidates are.

To be fair, it’s pretty darn common for the field to be bare at this point in the cycle, especially when the incumbent is in his first term. I think that it’s more reasonable than in any other first term in recent memory to speculate about other candidates due to Biden’s popularity and age, but that doesn’t mean much for 2024 at this point. If Biden reads the room and announces he won’t seek re-election, I think you’ll see an explosion next year in potential Democrat candidates.

And as usual the Democrats will nominate and push the most radical candidates (Biden a moderate LOLOLOL) and get destroyed in 2024.

Biden was never a radical in the party, nor were Clinton or Obama. Biden has taken some bolder stances on certain things than I expected, but I assure you he’s not on the fringe of the party.

He is a 'moderate' of the progressives. They will continue to push more and more radical members and they will be promoted by the Pravda.

The days of Amy Klob (Would have been a MUCH better president) are over for the Democrats.

She’s actually a pretty solid example of why Biden isn’t particularly radical. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a single instance in which she has expressed disagreement over or voted against any of the Biden Administration’s policies. Honestly, Obama was probably the “moderate” you should be pointing to. He either changed or dropped several of his policy focuses due to attempts to work with the Republicans in Congress and has drawn the ire of many progressives due to some of the comments he’s made about progressive idealism run amok.

Obama had to be a 'moderate'. He was the trojan horse. Obama doesn't actually believe in moderate views.

Why on earth would there be a different candidate for the Dems in 2024

It was something that’s been discussed since before Biden secured the nomination in 2020. I’ll believe it when I see it, but it’s not an absurd idea.
