“It’s an important step, but I look forward to hearing from other members,” said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), the No. 5 Democrat in the House.
“We were unexpectedly sent this bill by the Senate. Now, we’re trying to absorb it,” he added to The Hill.

That last quote made me chuckle when you consider how many members of Congress will blindly vote for a few thousand page bill with trillions of dollars in spending, mere hours after it hits their desks.

suggesting she supports Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), which outlawed prosecuting
married couples for using contraception.
It is the basis for the right to privacy & led to Roe v. Wade and marriage equality.

So, why are they there?

Republicans said they supported the provision but not other parts of the bill.
Today, Democrats brought up a STANDALONE bill to cap insulin at $35/month.
193 Republicans still voted no.
