Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Dodgers send Pollack to the White Sox for Kimbrel. Best I can tell this is not an April Fools Day joke.

Opens up LF so they can add the LHH Conforto on a nice value deal. He will probably put up a 4 win season while the Braves give 1200 PAs to Rosario over the next 2 seasons.

It will interesting to see where Conforto ends up at this point. With him being a Boras client, you figure he'd rather not play than have to take a value deal. Also not sure the Dodgers have an immediate need for Conforto. With Taylor, Bellinger and Betts in the OF.

We get it homie. You don’t like the Rosario deal. Jesus

If only they had a GM that knew what the **** he was doing, they might actually win a World Series one day. We can dream.

Luke Jackson has UCL damage. Needs Tommy John

If Jackson is out this year with TJ do the Braves gain another year of control? If he has TJ there is no reason not to cut him since he is a FA at the end of the year.

This is a probably a good example of why pitchers should look for extensions early in their careers.

Hope Luke gets to pitch this year. This sucks for him.

Angels are DFAing Justin Upton. I briefly wondered if he might make sense as a bench bat/DH/occasional left fielder sort, but he's been pretty terrible for three straight years and it looks like he probably shouldn't be playing the outfield any more.

He will sign with the Dodgers for the minimum a few minutes after he becomes a free agent and post 25 HRs

Because that would be a douche move? Jackson is on a Major League contract anyway, so all of his money is guaranteed. Cutting him would be pointless financially, and a good way create some bad will.

JUp might almost make sense as a RHH platoon bat at league minimum.

I think AA should be targeting a 3B/1B type though.

The bench is going to contain Dickerson and someone like Goins. That’s not acceptable.

Wonder if we iron out any extensions between now and opening day. Not really any obvious ones I’m dying to lock up right now - maybe Riley for an extra year or two of control?
