We live in a different time. Gun culture is so romanticized now. Instead of a gun being an accessory to protect your family at home, it has become a show and tell toy for many. Gotta show people on social media how many guns I own. Cowards and pussies hide behind their guns now.

Reinstate assault weapons ban.

Keep your handguns, hunting rifles.

Anyone wanting to get a gun for the first time, takes and pays out of pocket for gun certification training classes and instruction. Not a one-day seminar for showing up either. A few month process of training. At least if some mentally ill incel is in a class with others and has to socialize, someone training with them might be able to red flag them before they are able to buy one legally.

Get less guns in circulation. That is less guns for "bad guys" to easily get their hands on. Everytime there's a tragedy, the fearmongering comes in immediately from the right. BETTER GET YOUR GUNS AND AMMO NOW BECAUSE NEXT WEEK THEY'RE GONNA BE TAKEN AWAY.

Husband of teacher that was killed has died from a heart attack this morning.

He didn't get hit by a bullet so it doesn't count as a death.

Similar to sturg's logic that those Capitol Hill cops with PTSD from Jan 6th that committed suicide don't actually count as deaths because they were pussies and killed themselves.
