Around the Majors - 2022 Version

You not an sec baseball fan, eh? He was a pretty good SS for lsu, and his mother is LSU's (previously baylor's) women's basketball coach.

During the CWS his last season, espn drove everyone crazy by pointing out who his mother is every 10 mins

Kramer Robertson is 27 years old - how in the *ell did he play for LSU last season???

Can't wait for the Phillies fans to come back to reality this week. They just swept a team who has now lost 11 in a row, and they think they are back and that it was Girardi's fault. I can't wait to see them face Corbin Burnes, Zac Gallen, and Sandy Alcantara in the next 7-8 days.

You mean this isn’t delusional?

good grief, I had to take a shower after looking at that draft. Maybe Anderson, Lewis and Quantril the only of the top 15 worth a damn? Senzel has had some success but nothing special.

Senzel would be an interesting buy low candidate for the outfield.

What we’re the numbers at this time last year?

https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds?date=2021-06-06&dateDelta=

Braves were 28-29 on June 6th last year. Mets were 30-23.

Win Division:
Mets 76.3%
Braves 14.4%

Make Playoffs
Mets 82.2%
Braves 24.9%

The extra wild card really increases the chances of getting to the playoffs. If there was still only 2 WC teams then the Braves odds at the playoffs are likely similar to last season at this point.

Also the Braves are currently projected to have a higher WP than the Mets for the rest of the season. But with a 1/3rd of the season already gone the Mets have banked a really good lead. I can easily see a situation where their offensive luck turns and they struggle at different points the rest of the way. But in the end, making the playoffs is the ultimate goal.

I think the division comes down to pitching. If the Mets get their guns back or the Braves can't solve Morton along with getting something from Soroka, then they banked enough credit to win it. If the Braves start to get 2021 Morton and Soroka can return and contribute, then there is plenty of head to heads left to easily catch them..

I tend to agree with that. It's still a long season and anything can happen. Hell on 5/24 the Angels were 27-17 with a 77% to make the playoffs. Fast forward to day and they are now 27-28 with a 34% chance to make the playoffs.

I am pretty confident it is a two horse race at this point.. Both teams could be scary in the playoffs if healthy. Braves having a rotation of Morton, Fried, Wright?, Soroka? With the Mets having Max, Jacob and Bassitt..
