GDT 6/15/22: Braves @ Gnats - Contreras Behind the Dish

Olson k rate is up a good bit from last year...
2021 - 16.8
2022 - 23.6

That's gotta be at least somewhat concerning

Get help. Loss is hard; but the first step of grieving is admitting it’s time to move on.

Olson hate I don’t get. I’m frustrated with the defense.

He was great hitting early. Now struggling. But it’s a new league and lots of new pitchers. Lots of change for him. I feel very confident he’s going to be an impact bat over the deal.

Like others said the deal was about 8 years not this year.
Wut? He was a better hitter than FF last year. He was absolutely expected to be great this year. He still can be

Last I looked he was still hitting the ball really hard.

I’m hoping he can get good enough we can move him.
Still seems like he’s a top 3 hitter on the brewers

He'd be a top 3 hitter on the Brewers, but what are we getting back and how much money do we eat in the deal?

I actually didnt hate keeping in Chavez even if it backfired. Minter's been a bit over-worked.

Why would we trade him? Who would you replace him with?
I made it up. I don’t know.

I don’t think we would do it this year. But in the off-season the brewers need offense. Two years on his desk isn’t that bad.

If we had pina back wild bill can dh or play corner. If you free up big money you can spend it.

I think over the large sample his numbers will be good bc he keeps hitting it hard. Seems to be getting more selective

If ff would sign a one year deal we’d have ff still.

We wanted freeman. Just not at the deal they were offering us. Probably would have signed him at that dodger deal.

My point was Olson target was about him being younger.

Yes we expect him to produce. But the decision to trade so much for him vs signing ff to the gun to the head agent price is not based on who is better this year
