TLHLIM

It seems rather difficult for your brethren. Reflection doesn’t have anything to do with just doing something because Musk did, but why. Pretty easy to see policy decisions right now are having terrible consequences.

The why is the question… not who.

That’s a fair point regarding the effect of enacted policies and looking to see why people are leaving the Democrats in general. The issue I had with Musk as an example is a lack of belief in his stated reasons for leaving don’t necessarily seem all that genuine or even accurate. Musk is claiming the Left has gone too far left, but appears to be giving conservatives a pass for moving further right. He’s claiming he’s concerned with the Left canceling him for saying doesn’t support them, but only did so after a reporter reached out to him regarding the sexual harassment settlement.

I think it’s very obvious that the Republicans will take the House in November, and I think the Democrats largely deserve it for governing poorly. I don’t agree the current crisis is solely or even primarily the current Administration’s fault, as this was an outcome widely predicted at the outset of COVID, but I think their priorities have been ****. Where I disagree is the idea that some Conservative Revolution is upon us. I think we’re in the same damn cycle we’ve been in since at least the 80s.

Musk is latching on to the republicans because he sees the power shift. Don't make it anything other than what it is.

We are going to control this nation for a generation.

'Moving further right'

Thats the 'big lie'

The expected reaction:

Look at how they are banning Gender transition treatment and Drag Shows.

My retort:

Someone points a gun at me. I disarm them and shoot them with their gun. You call me a murderer.

Facts are facts. If anything MAGA has moved more to the left while the left has moved off the scale.

Interesting you see the right as moving further right. I don't see that at all.

I agree with mqt…I don’t see any evidence that we’re going to have some sort of long term, stable majority in this country. Both parties suck. Power will continue to flip back and forth as each side takes a turn not living up to expectations.

You're missing the movement in minorities voting preferences.

I agree with the asterisk being the last two years has set an incredibly low bar to clear

We haven’t had a “real” election since the one where the Democrats won the Presidency, House and Senate. I’m not really willing to accept voter demographic shifts as an election defining event until we see it in practice.

Yeah - They 'won' those seats.

Ignore the ballot trafficking operation fully outed.....

The left has now fully endorsed 'partial birth abortion / drag shows for kids / gender transition therapy / Open borders / Elimination of student debt / burning our cities / assassination attempts of sitting justices ' but we are supposed to believe its the republicans that are radicalized.

Thats why nobody treats the left as adults anymore.

The majority of this country isn’t politically engaged.

No - But politics are downstream of culture.

The awareness of how the left is making a mockery of the natural order or things is waking people up. Hispanics and Black men are conservative. We just needed a political party that was socially conservative but slightly more economically liberal to sweep up the majority of the country.

If the left had *fully* endorsed these things, you’d think we’d have a lot more laws regarding them with a majority in both houses and the White House. In reality, drag shows for kids are a fringe thing that the Right just loves to pretend is popular, no action has been taken on student debt, while abortion and border policy remains in largely the same spot it’s been in for decades.
