A LHH who can actually hit and play 2B while Albies is out, then move to the OF when Albies is back would be pretty ideal.

And 1-2 BP arms.

I seriously doubt AA invested 18 million in a bench players. I'll be pretty shocked if duvall and Rosario aren't the platoon. Both have been solid hitters with platoon advantage for their careers

Would be awesome to have an idea about how far Alex may be able to stretch the payroll - got an interesting fit if the money is there.

Adam Frazier is struggling, but is a pure rental and fits the LH 2B/OF profile. With the Mariners seemingly almost out of the picture, he shouldn't cost much prospect-wise AND they have a potential high-end pen candidate who they might be willing to package with him in Ken Giles (who just returned from his TJS). The two of them combined to count $13.25 million against Seattle's books this season, so we'd be looking at adding $6-ish million to add them.

What makes this move a bit more intriguing for me is the fact that they also hold a $9.5 million option on Giles for 2023. If he and Yates come back completely healthy, you have your Jansen/Smith replacements for next season (with Lee becoming the third LHP in the pen behind Minter and Matzek) for $13.5 million less. That money can go towards paying the arbitration raises for Fried and Riley. At that point you can probably replace Frazier with Shewmake as the LH utility IF for the minimum.

Seattle is 3.5 out of the wildcard and they think they're in it. That can change in four weeks, but today they're not aware they're not good.
 
My guess is AA has effectively unlimited payroll in 2022 to make additions, and very little prospect capital, so his deals will be more along the lines of salary dumps. Overpriced BP arms and an overpaid average-ish bench/OF/DH piece is what I'm expecting.

I could envision a set of deals involving flipping Anderson for someone like Happ, and then acquiring an expensive rental SP to fill that hole.

Don't look now but the Marlins have won 6 in a row and are only 3 GB of the last WC spot. The reason I say that is because the Mets go there next after playing the Reds.

3.84 FIP, 3.84 era, 1.1 fWAR in 13 starts.

He's above average and quite a bit better than Anderson. But if the team moves Anderson then Noah fits the bill of a non-crappy starter who is a rental that shouldn't cost many prospects due to his salary.
