His underlying stats have been quite good this year, actually. Probably a career-year, but still—wonder what the Diamondbacks would want for him (or, the dream, him plus Ketel Marte).

It's going to make for another tough-decision off-season. He's raised his market ceiling a bunch, at least.

I've been a fan of his since the early days, when almost everyone else was dunking on him with regularity for not being the next Derek Jeter. It's been very gratifying to see him continue to develop at the MLB level.

His numbers are helped by an unsustainably low HR/FB rate. XFIP is close to career norms.
 
Kelly is the generic brand of Sonny Gray and Pablo Lopez. I think I have seen more fake trade scenarios with those two pitchers over the past 6 years than just about anybody. Kelly would be an excellent pickup for any team at the deadline.
