I mean he did go out and win them a NC.

I don’t blame anyone for loving it.

No one thinks he’s gonna be a top draft pick though.

I don't think anyone thinks Bennett will be drafted. Bennett himself is talking about going to law school. Bennett is about 5-9 and doesn't have a very strong arm.

Too much credit is being given to Bennett for this year. He wasn't asked to do a ton. Georgia's defense was incredible and Bennett's supporting cast was great. Bennett's job was basically to hand the ball off, make short throws to playmakers in space, and to run some play action.

Georgia won the national title because of an incredible defense.

Yes I said that. He won’t get drafted but clearly the team and coaches thought he was their best option.

And he literally went out and won that game for them

Whether he was the best option or not is something we'll never know as JT Daniels never got another shot after he got hurt. He looked pretty awesome before getting hurt. I think Kirby once revealed the reason he was sticking with Bennett. He said it was because of "continuity." Basically he didn't want to shake anything up. Pretty weak reasoning but at least it didn't bite him.

And Bennett did not literally win that game. The defense playing out of their minds and giving Bryce Young PTSD won the game. Bennett wet the bed for 3 quarters before putting together 2 decent drives in the 4th.

Bennett played well enough, he just benefits from the perception that QBs are the main reason teams win or lose. Sometimes that's the case, other times they just play a role.

Will be really hard to get 2 SEC teams into the playoffs this year, much less 3. Looking like Clemson and the winner of the the Michigan/OSU game are all but guaranteed to be in the playoffs. TCU would also be in if they finish undefeated. If they lose a game though, they will probably be out of it. And certainly USC could still run the table and climb back in.

Georgia is probably the favorite but they're not as good as last year. That defense is fun as hell to watch, dont give you nothing easy.

Don't see the committee taking a 2 loss team into the playoffs unless a lot of teams lose more than 1 game. IMO, Clemson still has the inside track over other 1 loss teams if they run the table and win the ACC. Maybe the Pac 12 winner if they run the table, but so far it seems like the committee (and the AP) doesn't much like what they see out of the west coast teams).

My prediction for the final 4 is UGA, Michigan, TCU, and Clemson. UGA goes back to back as champs with a weak top 4.

One wrinkle in this scenario that isn't getting talked about is Ole Miss. If they run the table and LSU stumbles, they could give UGA fits. Would the committee keep out a 1 loss UGA team that didn't win their conference? They didn't last year, but no one else really had a better argument since no other conference champ had only 1 loss. My guy says they still go,

It's probably a moot point since I don't suspect they'll beat Bama next week and I don't expect LSU to stumble. But it's at least a plausible scenario.
