2022 Elections

again... wut?

why I take the time to describe something to a braindead person is beyond me

NY State has 95% of adults vaccinated

The GOP candidate has so far received 2.7M votes, or 47% of the count
The Dem candidate has so far received 3M votes, or 52% of the count

in 2018... the GOP candidate 2.2M votes, the Dem 3.6M votes.

Wait a second!! The dems LOST 600K votes? Are the vaccines killing the Dems??? It's plausible!

We can look at Florida... only 81% of people gotten! Think of all those Republican voters who are dead now!!!! Election suicide

2018: GOP: 4.07M votes (49.6%), Dem: 4.04M votes (49.4%).

How about 2022? It's gotten a lot worse after all those dumb dead GOP voters who didn't get vaccinated. 20% of the state!!

GOP: 4.6M votes (59.4%), Dem: 3.1M (40%).

Whoa! The dem got almost 1 million less votes?!?!?! I guess it's plausible that the vaccine killed a million voters! The demos killed their own voters in Florida and New York. Why would they do this?? to own the repubs?

(do you see how stupid this is?)

" Third, our study is based on data from the only states where we could obtain voter registration information (Florida and Ohio); hence, our results may not generalize to other states.”

WAIT JUST A SECOND!!

I just looked at all the votes nationally

in 2018 before the Repubs killed their voters to own the libs
Dems: 60.6M
Repubs: 50.9M

in 2022 - post covid and all the dead people from not taking their vaccines:
Dems: 49.9M
Repubs: 53.1M

WHAT THE!?!?!?!?!

10M less votes for Dems??? Did the vaccines kill off all their voters? What is going on?

The Repubs GAINED 2M voters? Were they voting from the grave?

I need answers, 57!

then again, they probably didn't take into consideration overweight black people
or ballot harvesting or --- or ---or

the writers were very clear the limitations of their study, had you bothered to read to the end.

My guess is if you were a fly on the wall of GOP headquarters you would be hearing the same

bumping on the new page... since it is so plausible that the GOP murdered their voters by not getting the vaccine... I really need 57 to help make sense of this

yeah... the writes came up with a ridiculous hypothesis that any common sense would have rightfully mocked them,

instead - 57brave thought it was so compelling he posted to this board... when 57brave was rightfully mocked... he then doubled down with:

not withstanding Trump, y'all killed off your voters to, own the libs

might remind you how short sighted you and yours are
The above being just the most obvious

When mocked further... 57brave asked for data!

when given the data, 57brave says "the writers were clear about the limitations of their study"

it's honestly so pathetic how dumb you are, man

I would say it was party switch in opposition to child mutilation

again, this data was not national but exclusive to Ohio and Florida.
where party affiliation is public info

have to admit that your electoral argument against child mutilation might have been stronger than anyone thought

Data ?

Dansby Swanson hit over .300 for the better part of the year.
yet wound up in the .270s

That is as relevant to the article, specific article, as the gibberish of national vote totals and the fact you keep pounding that (R) received more votes nationally

uhhhhhh

DeWine increased his voted from 2.2M to 2.5M

A republican beat the incumbent democratic senator

what the **** is the argument here?

you can admit it was a stupid premise and we can move on

it isnt an argument

It was a report

I , after listening to election results from all sides , for the past week, see validity to the report

are you again missing the elephant in the room-
or dismissing it as an overweight black person ?
////////

the DeWine victory where an incumbent governor surpassed his previous vote total ?
that is a political rarity

and again it could have been that winning issue of child mutilation

I genuinely cannot fathom that you are this stupid

The argument is that the GOP killed their base with anti-vax. They use data from two states where the vote totals substantially increased for... GOP

Again, I cannot fathom how you are this stupid. But the democratic party is so very lucky to have you

NO MAIL VOTING IS ESSENTIAL BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE UNABLE TO STAND IN LINES OR IN BOOTHS. Sorry for yelling but I can't help it. This is beyond stupid.

This is the rationale of course but its completely unfounded. Just like screams of voter suppression in GA and then when they interview black people from the area they laugh at the idea they can't vote in person or get an ID.

70% of the country is supportive of marriage equality and 37 Republican

Senators just voted no to keeping it safe. This is why they keep losing

elections. They are bigots and bullies and folks are tired of it.

It is ok to admit you were wrong and fell for something so.stuoid. I'd respect you a lot more for it

In the second panel of Figure 1, we plot excess death rates for Republicans and Democrats
separately. In 2018 and the early parts of 2020, excess death rates for Republicans and
Democrats are similar, and centered around zero. Both groups experienced a similar large
spike in excess deaths in the winter of 2020-2021. However, in the summer of 2021 — after
vaccines were widely available — the Republican excess death rate rose to nearly double that
of Democrats, and this gap widened further in the winter of 2021.
In the third panel of Figure 1, we estimate the difference between Republican and Demo

Overall, our results suggest that political party affiliation only became a substantial risk
factor in Ohio and Florida after vaccines were widely available. Lack of individual-level vaccination status limits our ability to draw broad conclusions, but the results suggest that the
well-documented differences in vaccination attitudes and reported uptake between Republicans and Democrats [10, 7, 8, 13] have already had serious consequences for the severity and
trajectory of the pandemic in the United States. If these differences in vaccination by political party affiliation persist, then the higher excess death rate among Republicans is likely to
continue through the subsequent stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Doctors and demographers recently noticed another tragic example of how polarization shapes America: The pandemic has killed more people in the nation’s Republican enclaves than its Democratic strongholds. They explain the gap by pointing to Republican resistance to vaccines and the GOP’s more cavalier approach to combating the virus in general.

Those findings suggest many more Republicans — tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands — have died of COVID-19 than Democrats, leading some to wonder with some morbidity what the political impact will be. Will Democrats, facing the normal midterm election headwinds plus high inflation, do surprisingly well in 2022 for the simple, sad fact that there are fewer Republicans?

Not a good political strategy to accelerate deaths among your most loyal voters. Our friendly resident disseminators of anti vax deza should check their hands. Might be some blood left under their fingernails.

Without reading all that, how do they know who is registered Republican vs democrat. The majority of Covid deaths in my county were Indians and blacks, and neither really vote Republican even though my county is considered Republican.

ETA... this isn't entirely true. There were elderly whites, who do mostly vote Republican. The younger swathes were almost entirely black and Indian though. This is obviously antidotal, so it may not be the case even state wide

Actually this is an old previously studied phenomenon that pre-dates covid. Apparently during a prior viral outbreak FOX amplified anti vax deza. And lo and behold FOX viewers got sick and died in larger numbers as a result. It is a thang.
