Are the Mets figuring it out or are they just lucky? They’ve had five one-run wins in a row… which is clutch but also, what?

They weren't as bad as they looked while they were on the losing streak, but but also not as good as they've looked on this winning streak. They're a good team though, they were always going to make the playoffs with this expanded format and a weak NL.

I agree with this. It's just such a weird way to rebound lol

Mets are a good team, but they have a lot of flaws. The key for them will be keeping Verlander and Scherzer healthy, cause the rest of their rotation is extremely mediocre.

The Cardinals have also turned things around. 11-3 in their last 14 while the Pirates have gone 4-14. They dug themselves such a huge hole though...

Wild.

Probably has more to do with the A's ownership wanting a clean slate going into Vegas. If they weren't moving he probably doesn't get fired, just let it cool off with a suspension.

Genuinely think it was absolutely an accident, but it was probably the worst accident that could have slipped out of his tongue.

Based on the article, sounds like they did other due diligence, so maybe they undercovered other negative stuff about him in the process.

How honorable to leak innuendo to justify a decision without any details, so that way it gives the public permission to assume the worst.

The A’s ownership is spineless and that’s apparent from all the begging they’ve done to get a ****ty stadium deal in Vegas.

Kuiper probably made a decent pay check after 30 years with the team and no one is watching this A’s dumpster fire. Easy way to save some money.

The A's have become an utter embarrassment. They are basically a AAAA team right now. It's been hard to watch.

I have no comment on the Kuiper situation, but was talking about the sad state of that franchise.

I know we've had our pitching issues but they are in another league with how bad that staff is. Overall only the A's have been worse.

I know Verlander and Scherzer are great, HoF pitchers, but they invested in 40-year-olds and this is what happens to older players. They could have gone out, spent the same amount of money and gotten younger players and created depth.

4.88 and 5 FIP from Verlander and Max. Love to see it.

I was going to come and comment. Seems like it was mainly just lucky lol

Their schedule has also been relatively easy. Going to get tougher over the next month. But not a good sign for them to be losing to teams that aren't great. Meanwhile we've managed to tread water against a stretch of good teams.

Even with all of our doom and gloom, I think we all know we are still a good team.. just have some holes that need to be patched and frustrating play that we have to get through. I think I am more excited about the potential return of Soroka than anything else right now.

I hope all of our deadline moves are for the pen. Which will be hard since the guys we currently have are out of options and would have to be DFA'd.

I hope we curb stomp the Faillies this series. Bohm and his 'I can only hit the ball the other way' swing...

The Phillies badly need this series. I know it's early and they made an incredible run last year, but they don't look anywhere near as good... and I'm not sure I'd trust them to go like 50-30 again or whatever it was.
