Yeah - This was brilliant - just like FSU and the ‘Noles- the PC crowd can’t ever go after the Braves now - it would be an insult to the EBCI.

I'm pretty sure I've told this story before; but years ago, the state paper in Mississippi (clarion ledger) asked chief Phillip Martin (Choctaws - here around where I live) if the name "braves" offends him. He said no, using the name braves doesn't offend him... it's using the name braves when they suck is what offends him. I always loved that answer. Chief Martin is who brought the casinos to Philadelphia, ms. It's since added another casino, and the resort goes by the name Pearl River resort. They used to advertise at braves' games, and they still may.

I want to see that Braves deepen their relationship with the EBCI. Maybe other tribes too. I'd love to see things like Native American atrtifact exhibits at the park, more partnered merch (an alternate jersey would be cool), etc. Embrace and promote a more realistic Native American connection.
