GDT 8/28/23: Braves @ Rockies - Albies Returns

I'm sure that I don't want that.

López is elite with the glove, but he's bad enough with the bat that it wouldn't make up the deficit between Arcía's league-average bat and the surprisingly very-good defensive season Arcía is having.

You'll never convince me that Arcia's struggles of Kate aren't due to being tired.

Game totals 2020...
2020 - 59
2021 - 36
2022 - 68
2023 - 108

Man, Harris cost the Braves two runs there.

Obviously, he would’ve scored on the homer, and then Olson on a sacrifice fly by Ozuna

With the braves, Lopez...
.361/.385/.472

In a mere 39 PA, with a .414 babip and no discernible increase in average EV (and a worse average LA).

López is what he is: an elite glove that is nice to have on the bench.

I'm not gonna lie...I don't think I've ever seen a game with the Braves in Coors and it rained...Snow, definitely.....but no rain.

Giving the Braves' starters more rest (which I would like to see) is a very different argument than making López the strong-side of a platoon with Arcía (which is insane).

He's a capable player to get Arcia a couple games off a week. Arcia hasn't been playing games every day since about 5 years ago. I want him fresh. At least riley, Ozzie, Acuna, Harris, and olson are used to never getting a day off. Ss is a demanding position

That was always the premise. Matt correctly pointed out that Lopez would get most the starts, which isn't what I want. I'm more than fine with running Lopez out there twice a week

I'm glad that's the premise to which you've correctly come around, but it certainly wasn't "always the premise", my guy.

I think it's time to think about a platoon at SS
