Official 2023 Playoff Thread

This means absolutely nothing, but I didn't realize that Spencer Strider has literally only had ONE bad start against the Phillies... the postseason one when he was coming off a month-long layoff with no ramp-up. Power pitchers often do well against power lineups.

Looks like Brian Anderson and Jeff Francouer are calling the Braves series for TBS

Knowing Mandicks love of the Braves, I expect an umpire line up consisting of CB Bucknor, Angel Hernandez, Bill Hohn, Joe West, and the ghost of Eric Gregg

Angel Hernandez has been fired.

Braves playoff game starting at 6? Watching Georgia this year has been like heartburn, and they play at 7 against an unbeaten ranked team? My liver is going to get the Luis Avilan treatment Saturday evening.

Angel wouldn't be a bad choice for us, seeing how Harper and the Phillies have been at his throat recently. ;) And check out the zone he gave Max Fried a few weeks ago.
I kid...he's the worst. Took that distinction from CB, which is quite an accomplishment.

Is that where it came from? Lol. I saw it on a local newsfeed, so I thought it was legit. My bad.

All the fake reports said he was fired the last Friday of the season which doesn't make sense to begin with. But he worked the final weekend series in the Guardians series I believe.

It’s not a good look he’s still an umpire

He's Union. And he's either in the process of, or previously sued the MLB. It would be pretty hard to fire him at this point unless he committed a crime or was found to be betting on games or something.

I'm getting a kick out of watching some of Angel's "highlights" right now...this isn't a guy who's bad at his job. This is someone actively trying to piss off his employer and the players who berate him. It's like he relishes these opportunities to make egregious calls.

The union should have a standard of conduct\performance standard. Hard to respect a unions power that doesn't govern its own or have a standard of performance they can guarantee.
