I am not sure Randy, but I really like the idea of trading on the come. We, fans, would have given much more for the rookie who came out like fire than the 3rd year player who has turned out to be average. So maybe a player like Grissom, who really only has value to the Braves in case of...
We need to take care of business before, during, and after the series with the Mets. If we lose that series, then we do not really deserve to win the division, however, if we take care of the Gnats and Phillies, we may build some buffer just in case.
The Gnats, Marlins, and A's (three bad...
The Brewers have been playing good ball lately. If they can take 2 from the Mets and then we can take 3+ from the Phillies, there is a good chance the Brewers can overtake Philly. That in and of itself would make me smile.
Sure starting slow to bad teams is a yoke...however, they still have the best record in the league against <500 teams. It is the good ones that they have less success. You cant be the best when you consistently lose the series against the best. (1-2 against LA twice, 1-4 against NYM, 1-2...
I think you give Soroka 2 more starts in AAA and bring him up to start the first game against the Nationals. Ease his way in with a game against a lesser offense.
Just dreaming...can you imagine a Starting Rotation of
Degrom
Strider
Fried
Wright
Soroka
That may have to be the best rotation ever constructed in Atlanta.
It feels to me that AA uses high-level prospects for high-level return and not for rental guys to fill a gap. So I assume prospects like Shewmake and Vines are less likely to be dealt unless we are getting back something with longerterm commitment.
I guess I disagree with everyone on this thread. I do not think there is any way Dansby will willingly take the QO and try to prove it was not a fluke. He has an opportunity right now to make the biggest contract of his life and he WANTS it. He will not give the braves a "hometown discount"...
Obviously 11 games is too SSS, however, his season is shaping up to be un real. If in a month, Albies is still not back and he is still destroying AA ball, it may be the play. It was after 43 games that AA felt he had to bring up Harris, and that seems to be working.
