    2025-2026 offseason thread

Some don't want us to revisit but a few of us hated it and still do. AA is not without misses. It is what it is. Nothing we can do now, but it is fair to recall it for as long as we have Murphy and questionable things going on with him. I like him...but not as much as Bill. Ha.

Don't care for the Shanks thing but he's saying what reality is for the Braves. They won't pay him. Whether you believe it's injury concerns or whatever, the payday he'll command is out of the Braves universal funding plans. I'll hate it but understand it.

The nothing burger surrounding trades, signings or otherwise should tell you all you need to know about the philosophy of AA. Still early...so I'll refrain from any snap judgements.

Yes he has. And he has tools for sure. Who knows if he'll ever put it together, but I've maintained my like for him. I posted about him a few times last year...he's gotta produce now though. I'm hoping we have a logjam sooner rather than later.

I was about to chime in with the same thing. Honestly, most of the lists and rankings from most experts, fantasy enthusiasts and baseball rats can be subjective. There are just too many variables to consider, but some are obvious and others not so much. To that end, that list is "meh," but...

    Perspective

Pretty good facts/thought. I don't think most dispute the run of success of the organization, however this organization also leaves a lot of meat on the bone. Some of the approach in my humble opinion is that there are areas where a refresh is needed. That buttoned-down nice guys thing is for...

I think it's more about the concept of familiarity than the example itself. Weiss seems....lazy to me. Stat quo if you will. More of the same. I can only speak for me but I wanted a modern version updated. Who knows....

Feels like a Raheem Morris type hire. The known entity versus the risk of not doing things the "Braves Way." Meh

    New Manager Discussion

Learning on the job has never been a hinderence in my opinion. As a Director, I can say that my first journey into management I was a disaster. Until I understood motivations and the people part of management. I fused that with tough standards and I was able to get others to succeed. I got...

I can get on board with that. I know that I like a younger aggressive manager who can manipulate lineups to match the strength of the team. Overall I'm paying attention to the philosophy of the organization. I'm just wanting to graduate from The Braves Way to the new Braves way. Whatever that is.

OK. Sidelines sitter on this. But what is the draw of Lehman other than he's a Dodger bench coach?

Agreed. The contact stuff can be troubling but putting stock or too much into where he was and the results at this stage won't mean much.

I always hate the descriptions that read...good enough actions, enough arm....etc. But I'd say they aren't wrong for him. Only saw him twice but liked him more defensively than I thought the second time. He's the kind of player that won't hurt you there, but he didn't strike me as a defensive...

Not gonna pile on...there'll be enough of that, but I hate his set up, plane to the ball, approach, pitch recognition...that said, I gather no more from his debut than some of the other hitters in the system... Brutal is fair in this case, but where he was placed aggressively didn't help.

Gil has plenty of range not surprising giving his twitch and speed. He definitely turned himself into a legit ss prospect. He's been a refreshing surprise with the bat though once he came back from injury. Gonna be interesting ss battles in the next few years.
