I have the fear we may be the fourth best rotation in the NL east next year even if everyone is healthy with Harvey and Hernendez back... We need the players that drive defense with high obp and less k's to compete (a Span type). Dump BJ in a lost player swap (call up the cubs again), package...
Honestly I think how we play the Nats determines if we have a shot at the WC. They look better this last month and anything 500 or worse vs them puts us in a big hole compared to the giants and brewers (and pirates)
I do think there is something to how we teach pitching in our organization/use out staff that lends itself more towards this than other organizations. It scares me actually with Wood looking at his motion too...
No problem with it, just trying to be realistic. Fan graph has us at 44% for the playoffs, but they're 98% for the division. Rational doesn't mean given up. Just looking at realistic paths
Still iffy on whether we really want to make a run for it or tank for a better future. Even if we got the Nats after a WC game I feel like we'd figure out a way to BJ the game
6) Pirates
5) Brewers
4) Nats
3) Giants
2) Cardinals
1) Dodgers
Nats always seem to get us going on rolls but the other two are just worse teams. giants should finally be healthy and we don't play well out west, cardinals will get lucky. No need to discuss the dodgers
