No, Riley was not projected to be a .900 OPS guy. Exactly 10 players in the entire league had a .900+ OPS last year. And no, not all top 100 prospects project to an .850 OPS. There were 18 players who posted that last year.
Your idea of a realistic projection for hitting prospects is insane.
Outside of in-game decisions, what is a coach’s job if not setting the tone and culture of a team?
If the defense of Snitker is that the team is always lifeless every October, that is one sucky defense.
Sure.
And that still means nothing going forward, and is not a statement on his ability or value. He’s more likely to put up an 1.100 OPS in the playoffs next year than a .650 because that’s who he is.
We have years and years and years of evidence, the playoffs aren’t different, they’re just...
This is a team-wide failure. No one is above blame, save maybe Riley. But there’s a difference between ‘He didn’t get it done, bad series, he deserves blame’ and ‘He can’t cut it when it’s time to perform, he’s a regular season guy and wilts under the pressure, he doesn’t have the cajones for...
Dude is nowhere near good enough for that crap. I thought one of the benefits of Snitker was that he doesn’t let stuff like that fly? What is his actual value?
