Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

What a weird take a bunch of right-wing influencers all suddenly decided to make at the same time.

I actually do think, and have said here often, that politicians inserting themselves into the pre-trial process to offer bold demands is bad, and I think Jeffries was wrong to do so here. But the primary issue here isn’t Trump saying things, it’s his administration doing illegal things. It’d actually be great if we could go back to policing government rhetoric instead of government action.

It’s meant to show the hypocrisy. The left doesn’t actually care about the concept of due process. They only care about it when t supports their causes. And that’s the whole point.

This is a battle for the future of the country. Anyone thst thinks Trump following due process will usher in a new era of due process for all things is naive b

But due process matters. Even if Dem politicians are being opportunistic and dishonest about their motivations, Trump has given them that opportunity by stubbornly refusing to just not imprison people in El Salvador forever, or at least not one he couldn’t legally do that to *for now*.

MAGA is treating the Courts asking them legal questions about their plan to imprison people if they pass a checklist that includes clothing and tattoos as some sort of tyranny and it’s just not.

Due process matters when not given to those that actually merit it. When due process means protecting gangbangers that smuggle humans and beat their wives then you’ve lost the plot. And that’s what we will see moving forward.

Just becuse you don’t believe what experts say about the tatoos doesn’t make it not mean what it actually does.

The end result of your ideology is always violence and destruction. This will be a battle for the future and the victors will be the ones that are right.

As determined by …Trump? Thethe? President AOC? Who??

If you want to live in a world where this scumbag deserves whatever warped version of due process means then so be it. Sit on the sidelines or join the left defending these monsters and just admit you subscribe to a set of beliefs that make it structurally impossible to deport people who are here illegally and worse yet those criminals/gang members here illegally.

But sure - let’s call it due process and give this scumbag yet another court hearing. Loser mentality.

You could, I dunno, answer the question instead of wildly ranting and erroneously ascribing views to other people

The people who have power decide. Just like what was done during the autopen regime.

As has been the case since the beginning of time. The people will speak as to how correctly that power has been applied.

We don’t need courts, we don’t need a constitution. Nothing the executive does is “wrong” during his/her term in the moment. Once every four years, we use the election as a verdict on any and all actions taken by the executive for the prior four years.

I’ll pass on this system.

We don’t need courts that prevent the deportation of a gangbanger non citizen that’s for sure.

Maybe you can find all your posts decrying the treatment of the J6 prisoners.
How was I to know they were treated poorly without seeing the result of the next presidential election? The executive gets to decide in the moment who deserves due process, then the will of the people makes the final call on whether that action was justified or not when they cast their ballots.
