Minor League Thread Part Deux

I guess my point is he's 5th all time in saves and a borderline HoF'er. Why bop around the minors at all? Just retire. I guess he really likes pitching.

Did Hackenberg get injured? I noticed he only pitched one inning last night.
Had a very rough inning as well. 3 BB and 1 K. 33 pitches and only 14 strikes. Also had a throwing error. Could be an injury but the manager may have thought there was no reason to leave him out there when he was obviously couldn't find the plate.

Hackenberg has been rough all year... walking everyone and not striking anyone out... makes me wonder if he is hurt. Actually it's quite amazing he has a 4.39 FIP and a 4.94 xFIP when he's walking 7.36 per 9. He was one I was really hoping would become the next big gun this year.

Hackenberg has always been a few adjustments away from being much more than he is. He has a bulldog mentality and his pedigree is pretty good. I've been the low man on the totem pole on him simply because I've seen prospects like this for years never get that ONE thing that pushes them further. He is still a very viable candidate, but the fact he still struggles with his main swing and miss pitch (the CB) makes him volatile. He is merely a "watch" for me, but an adjustment or two off from him making me change my thought. I like Caminiti, Fuentes and JR Ritchie as the top 3 pitchers in the system.

Has anyone had a chance to see Owen Carrey yet? Impressive stat line so far and showing decent pop for an 18 year old with 6 doubles and a HR.

Just once. Looks like a locked in mini Bryce Harper. And that's not a comparison, I mean his set up and swing. Too early to determine what he amounts to, but I like what he's done in a small sample size, He was the only HS position player drafted from NE the year he got drafted. Good compact swing....I didn't gleam much other than a that. Seems to move well though.

I told yall, the player I chose to click most this year was Fuentes. He's been promoted to Double-A. His slider is really biting a little more than even earlier this year, and that FB in the zone is playing up really nicely. Good to see him be on the move. Who's next? Hm...Luke Sinnard will need to be challenged soon, Lara has to get his feet under him. Got about 2.30 WHIP , but the power is still there. Not far off I think.

Luke Sinnard has an eerily similar profile to Strider. Drafted one round above Strider, he also throws in the mid 90's with some devastating stuff. Like Strider had a lot of helium before getting hurt and knocking him down the draft board a bit. And his professional career is certainly off to a Strider-esque start with a K/9 of 17.

Obviously the likelihood of becoming Spencer Strider 2.0 is low, but he's absolutely someone to dream on.

He was pretty good at the Scouting Combine too. Ronit said he was flat out dominant. Seeing his first appearance was really nice. That ball gets on hitters like he's throwing 100. He's definitely worth watching.

I'm not a believer yet, but this is interesting... Dodd is now a full time reliever, and here's his last 7 appearance...

6.2 ip 6 h 2 er 0 bb 8 k

Not bad. Not bad at all
Could be another Dylan Lee is what the org might be going for. Coudln't work out as a starter, so maybe they're asking him to throw harder in less innings? What's his velo looking like?
