Global Events & Politics Überthread

A lot of it doesn’t, but when your options for reliable information are Iran, the Mainstream Media and Donald Trump’s Truth Social feed, we weren’t working from a lot.
I mean a nuclear reactor is gonna suffer major major damage to the explosions we saw with our own eyes

Feels to me like propaganda for further escalation

I obviously don’t want any further escalation but I guess my only question is if any sort of key components are mobile in some way, though I know a lot isn’t. They weren’t exactly quiet about hitting Iran’s nuclear sites in the days leading to the strike.

Those bombs obliterated the entrances to this reactor under the mountain and they dropped 400,000 pounds of bombs directly on the facility. How exactly is Iran going to rebuild all of that in a couple months?

They also know the US is watching their every move. What reason would Trump have to not just bomb the facility again if they got intel it was up and running again.

Seems like that’s what common sense would tell ya

But then again

Seems like most credible reporting is arriving at the (obvious imo) consensus that the massive targeted bombing campaign did a bit more than a “couple months” of damage.

The 2025 International Math Olympiad is coming up soon, something I'm sure everyone on these boards is eagerly awaiting. Last year, Team USA dethroned 5-time defending champion China. There was no six-peat for China.

The IMO is the world’s premier high school mathematics competition, attracting the best young mathematicians from around the globe. In 2024, 108 countries and 609 students competed. The US team scored 192 points, earning them first place. Individual scores are based on solutions to six challenging problems. Notably, US team members Alexander Wang and Jessica Wan placed in the top five individual rankings (third and fifth places, respectively).

The 2024 USA IMO Team members are:
- Jordan Lefkowitz, 17 (Connecticut)
- Krishna Pothapragada, 18 (Illinois)
- Jessica Wan, 18 (Florida)
- Alexander Wang, 16 (New Jersey)
- Qiao (Tiger) Zhang, 16 (California)
- Linus Tang, 18 (California)
