In fairness, Mississippi itself is probably bottom of the US in bWAR, fWAR. So figures the posters from there would also be sub-replacement level.
The eye test isn't great for measuring defense. Olson has the 3rd most DRS in baseball. In addition he's has more DRS than the 2nd 3rd and 4th players on the list combined.

Honestly, I'd rather see him get a few days rest after playing every game for years. Screw the ASG. Same for Ronald (at least keep him out of the HR Derby)
Oh, and great win! Would be nice if they could apply these new-found comeback qualities to teams other than the Mets as well.

Nah, we've given you guys Elvis, Oprah, bb king, Jerry rice (GOAT WR), Walter Payton (GOAT rb), and Brett Favre. So, we've given this country blues, rock and roll, afternoon talk shows, greats at football, and a GOAT welfare scammer/qb combo. Per capita, our WAR is strong. Only thing pulling it down is Riley

I'm so encouraged by Strider. The dude's coming back from major surgery and still gives the team a chance to win every time out. His fastball velocity was more consistent last night — and it was even up by about 0.5 mph. Offspeed stuff looked sharp. He had one rough inning where he struggled to locate, but he was money otherwise. ERA’s at 4.07, but his FIP is 3.60 and xERA is still under 4. He's showing he can be a good pitcher without high velocity, but will be great again once it returns (and it absolutely will get back to 97-99.

It’s wild how deep a hole we dug. This team’s been playing really well lately and they’re still four games under .500. No complaints about the recent play — just crazy to think about, especially with an expected record of 42-36.
