Schwellenbach to the IL - Fractured Right Elbow

Blue had it right -

Now, can someone explain a fractured right elbow ? Does this mean like a bone chip ? Or are we talking about a fractured ligament ?

If it's truly a minor fracture, we are beyond fortunate. At this rate, they need to see what value they have in their rentals and retool for next season.

Schwelly doesn't need to pitch one more inning. Strider needs to never go more than 90 pitches the rest of the way. Honestly I might consider shelving and Sale the rest of the season.

Put up the for sale sign. Murphy, Ozuna, Pierce Johnson, Bummer. And I would see what Holmes is worth to some pitching needy teams. He's got the 7th most K's in the NL.

Getting Sale and Schwellenbach back for the stretch run gonna be a huge boon. It’ll be like making two trades in September when no one is allowed to make trades.

This is probably the nail. I’ve been reticent to pull the ripcord on 2025, given that I do think the team has a lot more talent than their record reflects; but now too much of that talent is on multi-month IL assignments for turnaround from the under-performers to matter much.

Compete in 2026. Maneuver at the deadline to improve those odds. Focus on rebounds and development in 2025.
