GDT 9-2: Braves at Cubs; No DRAKE

I can be glad we're playing competitively every game (mostly) and still relieved we're losing for a better pick. We realistically weren't going to win at high enough rate to finish the last two months and get a wild card, because Snit's incompetency would never allow a run to be made. Teams that go on those win streaks either dominate every game to where the manager has no influence, or has a manager that presses the right buttons in those tight games that keep a winning streak alive and momentum going. Snit does not possess that quality. We've lost so many games this year because of him. The game we almost came back to beat the White Sox where Harris was on fire like 4-4, and he pinch hits Harris for Eli to give Harris some rest... that is all that should have told you about where his managing skills is.

The 2021 second half of regular season, LDS,LCS, WS version of Snit I think we all know was the office micromanaging him. It was a miracle Snit was able to do bullpen games back then, and was managing way different in hte postseason than he normally does.

2023 Snit is the Snit I will always loathe. The real Snit.

Says in May that he doesn't wanna use his best arms in high leverage in close games against good teams in May because they won't make it to October. We end up having almost a week off between 162 and NLDS Game 1. We had off days between NLDS G1 and G2, another between G2 and G3. And yet he was still throwing Tonkin and Chavez in high leverage because it was the 4th inning and not late in the game, with a fully rested bullpen that had a week off. That was ever so just as if not more egregious than Fredi leaving Kimbrel in the pen in 2013.

Harris has an odd arm action from a low slot. Maybe that has something to do with his early success.
I've seen Harris' arm action mentioned in the scouting report on him, but he will need more than that to be effective at the major league level. His velocity was a bit higher than advertised if the stats on the Gameday app are correct, but probably still not high enough to make a dent. I expect we are going to see a fair amount of Munoz and Harris through the month to determine whether they deserve a spot on the 40-man roster.

Funny thing about the Munoz twins. Rolddy's brother Roddery (who came through the Braves' system ahead of Rolddy and has bounced around and is currently in the Cardinals' system) has been considered the better prospect. Neither of them has shown great control over their stuff but both obviously have big arms.

I wasnt very familiar with Fraley, I took a few years off obssesing over baseball, but he looks like exactly what we needed for the bench. He looks a lot like Laureano in that he has a relatively(for us) high floor in that he is consistently above 90 RC. 90 RC isnt good but its not Melvin level bad. I dont know why he would be on waivers. The 2026 team looks in so much better position having Fraley and now Kim.
