GDT 9/3/25 Braves @ Cubs - ROY Contenders Battle

I don't think his Achilles is 100% bc he's not running a lot of stuff out he usually does. I think what this team needs the most is rest.
Then get him off the fucking field. At least make him DH only.

This organization is fucking retarded with the way it handles players. No wonder the entire roster can’t stay healthy.

I assume you are being facetious. But in case you aren't, we've got 2 more seasons of cheap options. There is really no need to extend him into his mid 30s. He is never going to be the type to require a significant contract. If he's still good in 2 years, we should be able to resign him for around 10-15 million annually over the 3-4 years. So you wouldn't really save much by extending him now.
Thought last season was the last.

Yep but the last time he was limping in the outfield they left him out there for 2 more plays. I have no faith in the coaching or medical staff. Just like we all knew Sale needed to be pulled and we see what happened.

All I want is 73 wins - 10-12. That avoids 90 losses and puts is in the 'meh' pack instead of the 'bad' pack.
73 wins probably locks us into the bottom 8 and behind Stl and LAA. That would lock us into picking no worse than 12th. But the odds for a top 5 pick would not be great.

I don't care about the 90 loss thing. I'd rather go 8-14 or worse in order to greatly improve our odds of getting a top 5 pick.

The difference between something in the 11-14 picks and the 1-5 picks is 4-5 million in total bonus pool. That is really significant.

On 7/17, Ozzie's season OPS against LHP sat at .512. He had a wOBA of .226 and a wRC+ of 39. His ISO was .046

Today, Ozzies season OPS against LHP sits at .700. His ISO has climbed to .116. His wOBA is .301 and his wRC+ is 91.

To say he has been crushing LHP lately is a huge understatement.
Everyone saying his wrist must be an issue look to have been spot on.

This is obscene. Lmao

I know Kim won't have a 2019 Donaldsonesque season next year. But if he produces from shortstop anywhere near his best career averages next season (assuming he opts-in), it's going to be great.

I wonder if he finishes strong this year if AA tries to extent for another year so we have him for 2 years.

That would be an AA thing to do. Probably save some money next year in exchange for more years.

How would Boras feel about that? Kim is a Boras guy isn’t he?

Saw this stat from another board:

The Braves starter with the most starts since the beginning of the 2023 season?

Bryce Elder with 64.
