It would take a Pirates sweep to end up higher better than 4th, imo. Even then, I am not so sure. I would be willing to bet we split the remaining games among the Tigers and Nationals. Pirates probably only win 2-3 more games with their remaining schedule leading up to us.
 
Finishing fourth definitely seems like best case scenario to me based on how bad the Pirates and Twins are, plus remaining schedules. I would happily take fourth right now.
 
We are in our own area right now. Today's update:

3. Twins 1.5 GB
4. Braves 4 GB
5. Orioles 6.5 GB
6. Marlins 6.5 GB
7. Athletics 6.5 GB
 
The Nationals are really trying to kill our tank. Thankfully others around us keep winning. Orioles already won today, Athletics @ Boston and Marlins @ Colorado tonight.
 
Today's update is even more obvious that we have no shot at the top 3. Athletics play the Red Sox at 1:30. Would be really nice for them to win but Red Sox are a -160 favorite. Marlins finish their series at Colorado and Orioles start a 4-game series at the Yankees.

The Athletics are actually pretty hot. They are winners of 5 of their last 6 and 7-4 overall in their last 11. They are 30-24 since the ASB.

It think we're pretty locked into our current spot. We just need the Nationals to actually win a game or 2 against us and we need Det to sweep, because I have zero faith we lose any games vs Pitt.

Ideally we would shutdown Sale and Strider for the rest of the season and lean into the tank.
