GDT 9-15: Braves in DC

Here's a weirdness. The Braves are guaranteed to match their 2024 record against NL East - can do no worse than 28-24.

What killed this team (besides losing all their pitchers) are all the 1-run losses early in the year to the NL West. On June 8th the Braves were 9-19 in 1-run games. Even that out to 14-14 and they're 3 games back of the Mets at this very moment.

That's even with losing all of our pitchers and going 10-25 right after.

I'd try to sign Bader this offseason also for depth.

Team is defying the front office by fighting hard for Snit until the end. They're trying to give hope to that segment of hte fanbase that wants Snit to get one last run for year 50.

I hope AA has the strength to overrule the emotions of the fanbase for the future of the franchise. Snit should truly just be selfless and announce he will step down.

Not a chance. Snit thinks of himself as a giant of the game. He wants a retirement tour.

Olson's offense is 41% better than league average. In what way is that just 'close to having a really good offensive season'?

Chipper for his career was 41% better than the league. I guess he wasn't a really good offensive player.

It was 34% on Sunday.

When I was judging his season, I judged him against himself, which was he was just in line with his career numbers. Since he's a good player, I considered his season good. A good season for him would be a very good season for other guys. To his credit, the last 4 games, he's raised his numbers to better than career norms.

What I consider good and very good really bothers you, don't it?
