2025 Around The League Thread

It's funny how 24 games can make you worthless and 15 games means multi-year contract.

Make it make sense.
He's showing himself healthy. It isn't that hard to see. There's nothing out there for SS. He avg'd 3.5 fWAR over the previous 3 seasons. There's zero chance he opts out and ends up with less than 16 million

There is plenty of chance that happens. Teams aren't going to magically forget his time with the Rays. His overall line for 2025 is mediocre. You are putting way too much emphasis on his short tenure in Atlanta.

Kim career vs this season...
Xwoba: .304, .300
Wrc+: 100, 93
Woba: .310, .305
The bat is back to normal levels. He will breeze by 16 million. In fact, AA will offer him more than that if he hasn't already

Based on what’s available and where the prospects are, I wouldn’t mind AA announcing a 3/45 deal right now. I expect him to get more though.

I could see that.

I could also see teams being wary of his injury and his overall weak performance since coming back and offer the same 2/30 type of deal he signed last off-season. He could easily go 5 for his next 30 to close out the season and finish with a .650ish OPS on the season.

Kershaw to retire at the end of the season. Potentially may not make the post-season roster.

Better career: Kershaw or Verlander? I feel like it's Verlander myself.

Kim is rocking a .372 BABIP with the Braves vs a career mark of .283. Needless to say, the overall line isn't legit.

However, no modern FO pays for bottom line stats...they pay for expected stats. Kim's expected stats are right back to career norms, and he appears healthy.

If I were him I would opt out and be the alternative to paying Bichette too much money to play 2B in 2 years.
