GDT 9-20: Drake at DH

7 in a row. That would have been better received at the start on the season. Not after they’ve been eliminated. Oh well.

Hard to know what the team has in Alvarez Jr. The bat seems like it could be useful with swing changes that get him to elevate more, especially since he has solid plate disciple and bat control; but there’s still probably not enough offense there to be a regular at 3B, even with the very good defense he’s shown at the hot corner. Certainly not enough offense to start over a healthy Riley. And it’s hard to carry a bench bat that only backs up 3B (and, I suppose, 2B).

Maybe some other team with a dearth of 3B options would value the glove as starter-worthy if the bat is at least viable? Again, difficult to see what to do with him going forward.

This would be an amazing comeback if only we didnt blow a few games. Watch them end the year winning 14 straight after losing 7 straight to start the year.

Team isn't serious about the draft pick

That being said. It's all based on random bounces of a ping pong ball anyways so its not like it matters that much.

We didn’t have a great 2025, and underperformance played a big role. But losing their MVP RF, All-Star LF and 3B, a Cy Young starter for extended time, plus other key injuries mattered too. I’m extremely confident this year is an outlier, not the norm moving forward.

Just one less problem from being right in the playoffs. Schwellenbachs freak injury..... or Iglesias doesnt pitch like Kolb for 2 months....

I liked that game. The stadium was packed, the stakes were high or the Tigers, and we absolutely crushed their souls.
