Ohtani is special, but roided out bonds was a cheat code. Remember his 2002 not even his record breaking 01. He reached base just under 350 times in 612 play appearances, only Babe Ruth in about 80 more plate appearances reached base more times than Bonds in 04. Bonds lead MLB in WAR 9 times before the first time he took PEDs.

Bonds is a fucking freak of nature. And when he started taking roids he became god.

Agreed. A passed ball could change the game with a ghost runner on 2nd. I'd rather both teams be able to add 2 position players and 2 pitchers to the playoff roster but they can't be used until the 11 inning.

I actually like this idea and one I haven't heard or thought of before.

Well he hasn't surpassed him yet. But Ohtani is the best hitter in the league and probablly a top 10-15 SP. It's ridiculous.
 
I doubt it happens, but the Jays potentially going to LA and taking two of three would be one of the more impressive baseball feats that I've seen in a while. Hell, they are a few bounces away from being 3-1 right now.

I feel like Bonds was almost pushed into taking Roids so I never blamed him too much.

Bonds becoming a God put one trick clowns like McGwire back in their proper context.

Shohei is special. Angels had the closest thing to Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle we've seen since those players retired and never made the playoffs. From 2014 to 2023 the Angels won 5 MVPs Since 2012 the only years an angel hasn't lead the AL in offensive rWAR was 2017-2020 and2022. And they never made the playoffs.
