We are just hiring a manager.

The timing wasn’t to appease anyone
 
Bowman said this morning that Lehmann is the favorite. And now he tweeted this: "John Gibbons is still a possibility to become the Braves’ manager. A couple weeks ago I reported it felt like he wasn’t in the mix. But it now feels like he could reunite with Anthopoulos. Gibbons was Anthopoulos’ manager in Toronto."

That scares me. I'm wondering if someone in the front office saw the tweet and reached out to correct him. Hope not.
 
Now my guess is they announce it tomorrow. They are going to want him there for a press conference and he is likely in LA today for their parade
 
Whatever is the reason I would bet it has everything to do with Lehmann. If it were anybody else they would have been announced already. I'd be shocked if Lehmann weren't announced by the end of the week.
 
If they wait this long and dont hire Lehman, thats just a weird process. You'd have to think they let Lehman enjoy the WS parade and wait after that when he's free and clear.

How many openings remain? Lehman will likely have options to consider. From the Braves angle, Lehman may the first choice with Lombard a fallback.
