REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I’ve noticed he just mills around the sideline.

Most other qbs find a spot on the bench with OL and skill groups and review tablets and talk about whys going on
That's on the coach. I never played high enough but after every drive the OL coach would sit down with the OL, the QB coach would sit down with the QBs, etc. and the coordinator would go over the plans for the next drive. We knew what was expected after every drive is you went to your area of the bench and met with your fellow players

Yeah, I don't fault the HC or OC for not talking to him because they have other jobs. but the QB coach should be there every drive. What else does he have to do? And that's a fireable HC/OC offense, their main job is to make sure the team runs and the coaches do their job

Yep. The QB coach, the passing game coordinator, and half a dozen assistants need to be there. The dysfunction of this staff runs deep.

Raheem Morris and a bunch of others are just wasting our young talent. First off I don't want to hear about how great Ulrich is, he's fine, but Bryce Young just clowned his ass.

Getting swept by the BRyce young lead Panthers is a bridge too far. Fire Morris and maybe we can salvage the season to get to 7 wins. Can't blame the kicker this time.

Disaster.

It’s hard to imagine that the Falcons’ job will be that appealing in the offseason with no first-rounder and limited cap flexibility — not to mention a decade of incompetence.

The organization needs to commit to a full-scale multi-year rebuild. New front office. New coaching staff. Salvage as much draft capital as possible from the roster.

They won’t because Arthur Blank is old and wants to be around for the next good Falcons team.

The thing is they have someoen who'll want to come because of Bijan, Penix, London, and the edges taken in the first. There's a lot to be excited about, but the issue is that coaching is horrible and the front office needs to go. I assume we'll have something happens like the Jags did where the coach is picked who brings in a GM they want. Look at the Pats turn around that Vrabel brought, would be great to have a similar thing here.

I find it absolutely remarkable that the Falcons convinced themselves that Raheem Morris was the guy. Just a monumentally poor decision.
You're not wrong. The sad part was we were coping with it by saying at least we got a McVay disciple to run the offense and instead we got a dud.

The Falcons wasted a chance at a window on Raheem Morris. We had a good cap situation, some good young (and cheap) skill position players, a good O-Line, a core you can build on.

Now we're staring at starting an injury prone QB next year that we still don't know if he's good or not. Drake is going to get paid. Bijan's payday is looming, and we have no first rounder next year.

Bleak.

I know Blank lacks the stomach for it but this team needs to be torn down completely and rebuilt. New coach, new front office, trade Drake, Bijan, and almost anyone else who would fetch a haul of picks and spend the next two years building a legitimate contender.

Penix out for the year, London out for a while. That might be the #1 pick they are handing to the Rams
Falcons aren't are gonna finish anywhere near the No. 1 pick. It's doubtful the Titans win another game. The only game we won was a fluke where the other team fumbled the ball like 4 times on the same play that ended in a TD for us.

If arthur smith was our coach, Kirk Cousins in the second half would look great and we'd climb up the rankings finishing 7-10 and out of the top 5 picks.

Raheem though is new levels of special. I cannot fathom being swept by Bryce Young. Terry Fontenot mortgaged the short term on Cousins by blowing our cap out on him while mortgaging our long term on Penix with a top 10 pick and neither seem to work in Zac Robinson's offense.

I feel like Bryce Young would thrive in the right environment/coaching staff. Like maybe if Stafford retires, I could see the Rams taking a flier on Bryce. Or Las Vegas/Denver where their coaches have had success with smaller QBs.
