Jim Bowden says there is "tremendous" interest in Kim so far this offseason, with the Braves and Brewers being aggressive. He also said Atlanta is legitimately interested in Ranger Suarez. Bowden is a huge wild card, but interesting to say the least.
Jim Bowden knows about as much as I do. And I just broke the Chavez news.
He's arguably the 2nd best starter in this class.
And if we sign him, that means we don't have to face him. That's probably worth the 26th pick in and of itself.
I will say this. Signing Suarez to a 170+ million deal a year after letting Max walk for 218 would be..... head scratching to say the least.
Maybe Suarez' market is a lot cooler than we think. ESPN only projected him for 4/92, which seems crazy to me in this SP market.

I’m a massive Max Fried supporter, but the injury concerns are real and he’s been shaky in the postseason. Suárez, on the other hand, has dealt with more random, non–career-threatening injuries—more like Sale’s—and he’s absolutely nails in October.
Suarez has been considerably better over the last 3 years, while also playing in a much more hitter friendly environment over most of this time.

AA does not give out no trade clauses or deferred payments. This takes us out on any major free agent (Schwarber/Diaz/Bichette/etc..)

I think everyone would be wise to take the "I'll believe it when I see it approach." At this point, I expect to add around the edges as well. But, I wouldn't be totally shocked by a larger move, I just think it'll likely come via trade.

I think anything big will be Buxton. Bassitt still makes the most sense at SP.

I think I'd prefer Merrill Kelley over Bassitt, but yeah, I tend to agree we will shop in that aisle.
