So...the workhorse of the Braves staff. He never seems to go that deep into games. He averages around 150 IP per season the past 4 years.
I still don't want him though.

Gaurav is wonderful. He used to work closely with Kiley on all things minor-league. He's not an insider, but he absolutely knows the Braves system and MLB team better than almost anyone else and has great contacts across the industry. If this is accurate - which seems questionable based on the track record of Braves fans trying to act like insiders on Twitter - he’s saying Gallen is one to watch. I think AA is too smart for that, but I guess we’ll see.
If he's right then I hope it's Framber out of those 3.Gaurav is wonderful. He used to work closely with Kiley on all things minor-league. He's not an insider, but he absolutely knows the Braves system and MLB team better than almost anyone else and has great contacts across the industry.
I do to and I hope that's the way we go. Peralta or Ryan would set us up really really good. It'll probably be somebody we didn't expect.Still think a trade is brewing.
I know I'm dreaming but would love to see them really stretch all-in and trade for Joe Ryan and sign Tatsuya Imai.I do to and I hope that's the way we go. Peralta or Ryan would set us up really really good. It'll probably be somebody we didn't expect.

This, 100%. He's also not saying the Braves are DEFINITELY going to grab a big-name pitcher, but he hears rumblings and knows the team is all-in. Makes sense.Gaurav is not a "Braves fan trying to act like an insider on Twitter"
He's one of the better Braves follows out there and there are not many better than his Braves prospect coverage. He has a great reputation.
Man, someone must take a massive shit in your cornflakes every morning. lmaoIt's not exactly a stretch to say the Braves are going after a legit SP when you consider they were willing to lose the pick for Diaz, likely have $20M to spend, and desperately need a SP.
I think every single person on this board could have drawn that conclusion without being an insider.
His Savant page is very red.I actually like Ranger Suarez. I don't want to pay him top of the market prices, but I'd be comfortable with something like 4/90.
However, he does give me Jordan Montgomery 2023 vibes. That didn't turn out so well for AZ.
No on Valdez and hell no on giving up a pick for Gallen. Gallen should have taken the QO and tried to rebuild some value next year.

Doesn’t that apply to pretty much anyone? I’m not sure why it would be worse for a dude who doesn’t throw hard to begin with and has a bunch of effective pitches.Suarez strikes me as someone the wheels could come off of very quickly. His fastball is bad and he doesn't miss any bats. He relies on not walking many and getting poor contact. He's not got a lot of margin of error. If his stuff or control declines at all and guys can square him up a little more often, it could get ugly.
Of course being a soft tosser he could age better than most not relying on velocity to get outs.

He's not too far off a K per inning. He's among the worst in the league at getting swings and misses. So he's basically entirely reliant on inducing weak contact. If he's not able to hit his spots precisely or if his pitches lose some movement, he's not got much else.
He could end up being effective into his 40s. It's just that once he starts declining I think it will get bad quick.
