I don’t see why Points 2-4 shouldn’t be an obvious compromise to make for the Republicans. Point 3 especially is obvious. If you can’t staff your operation without sending untrained, poorly vetted chuds across the country with guns, then reduce your scale for a month and go after the actual criminals while the proper hiring and training is done. Agents are frequently breaking laws and committing unjustifiable (this does not mean unprovoked) acts of violence that other federal agents of all stripes manage not to do during law enforcement operations.
C’mon, man. Nancy Mace is pretty visibly an insane person.

I’m a bit confused here by his framing of this. This is just showing that public services effectively cuts our poverty rate by 10%. Whether you believe this is worth spending our tax dollars on or not, I don’t see why this is a negative when presented in a vacuum like this.
The Senate is never getting to 60 votes on this regardless, but it does seem like it’d have an easier path to bipartisan approval if they simply did something to address the issue that it’s written in a way that might make voting difficult for people with name changes in an overzealous state.
