Marxist idiot: we have all this wealth. We should be doing super nice things!!

Person using brain: how did we get all this wealth?

Marxist idiot: I have no idea but we have it! We should be doing super nice things

And people on these very boards vote for the marxist idiot
They are dangers to society. We need to address this

The government says the tens of thousands of people they are killing all meet a very specific diagnosis and totally.voluntary, and mqt believes them

Thats all it takes. No thinking required

I read the report on the ensuing tweet and I agree with the concerns listed. I would point out that in the timeframes listed, these are exceedingly small numbers that are dwarfed by the number of Americans who suffer from similar issues due to an inability to pay for such care. But that’s not a problem for Canada to resolve and they should fix their own system to stop such abuses.
If you truly cared about the inability to pay your hate how much illegals drain from the system. Alas, you don’t care about that so I have doubts you truly care about about not having the ability to pay for medical attention for citizens.

More MAID deaths than gun shot deaths in the US. Im quite certain you believe one to be a crisis

I’m going to back away from spending my day talking about suicide and its derivatives because it fucks me up, but contextually there can be valid explanations for this. Many, many more people die from the entirety of terminal illnesses than gunshots in America. If provided the option to die peacefully before the illness does it, many choose it and it’s not indicative of anything nefarious.

Anything beyond that should be investigated and addressed. The small bit of research I’ve done on Canada’s guardrails is clearly not enough for me to speak to the results and I’m not going to blindly trust them. But I find any issues within their program to be immaterial to the larger discussion around healthcare in the United States. If 1,000 disabled people in 5 years did not receive proper care under Canada’s system, they should do things to fix that. But when the US government is doing fuck all for so many people who need medical care, I don’t know that this is the evidence that would lead me to reject all of socialized medicine.

Someone in the US with zero health i surance (think about your illegal immigrant friends) has better access in this country than a Canadian citizen, who must wait 18 months to get an MRI or offered suicide if they dont wish to wait

Call me crazy but going into debt is a better option then ending your citizens life

US has 10x the population of Canada and registers a little more than 2x suicides than Canada's MAID program

Something is very very broken and dark up there
Again, you are conflating death by suicide numbers with death by terminal illness numbers in a way that distorts an otherwise important debate.

I think the past 72 hours of US-Canada hockey activity has shown me the light on the Donroe Doctrine. We essentially just earned the rights to Canada.
