I don’t even think it’s a particularly tough choice.
The reporters couldn't hear all the clapping from the furniture.
The only thing about Rubio that concerns me is how he followed McCain and, as member of the gang of eight, pushed for amnesty of illegal aliens. He needs to explain how his views have changed from then to now. It’s great problem to have. Both would crush the left in a general and both would make great president.
Totally fair - my preference is Vance for sure but I think a lot has changed since the days of John McCain. It’s just not the same country or world any longer. The only thing about Rubio that concerns me is how he followed McCain and, as member of the gang of eight, pushed for amnesty of illegal aliens. He needs to explain how his views have changed from then to now.
Rubio strikes me as the excellent politician that JD Vance wants to be. Obviously I do not enjoy “emboldened” Marco Rubio just as I didn’t enjoy the other iterations of Marco Rubio, but he seems much more adept at weaving his way into wherever MAGA takes him without looking like he’s trying too hard or coming across as a dweeb like Vance does or a sycophant or grifter like the rest of the Cabinet. He also seems to have the best comms team and to (along with Bessent) be the person cited by the more serious members of Congress as the person who reassured them when Trump does some crazy shit. This new emboldened Rubio is certainly a good turn.
