GDT: 4/30 Respect your Elder

The missed HBP was huge.

There was also a time early where Olson didn’t challenge a clear ball that changed the whole complexion of the ab. He ended up striking out. Had he reached, the Braves would likely have scored a run that would have been huge.

Kind of let the details slide in this game. You just can’t do that.
I forgot about the HBP replay. What were they seeing, or not seeing, at the replay center?

How’d he do against Framber and Skubal?
Which is a good counter point. Bottom line is he's not good at the plate. Slumps happen, but on occasion, even in a bad one, you'll have a hard hit out. Riley is hitting nothing hard right now. We know the kind of hitter he can be. We've seen it. All you can do is hope he busts out of it sooner rather than later.

How much would it cost to just have Chipper sit in the dugout and say “Hit it right center, meat” every time Riley walks up to the plate?

I feel AA found a way to actually downgrade here
On Molina, I agree. I don't see what he brings to the table at all. I have no idea why we are not trying Karinchak.

Stratton was solid for us last year though. He's worth a gamble. It's hard to be worse than Payamps has been.

Indeed. Getting the bases loaded with Baldwin up could have led to the game getting out of reach

Neither Payamps or Suarez are likely available today, so we found two warm bodies. Additionally, both are gone when Strider returns (Sunday) and Iggy (Tuesday). It would be Dodd if he were available anyways.

Karinchak has pitched like 2.2 innings over the last two days (or something), so he's down for a day or two anyways. But I'd absolutely give him a shot soon.

They might also be waiting on Karinchak because they don't want a roster jam when Strider and Iggy return. Molina and Stratton are more disposable.

This 100%— they are both walking the green mile with a quick trip to Denver along the way.
