The Braves are probably better because they can now. Utilize the DH with actually good hitters. And not try to force meth heads. Crappy ass bat in the game.
2024 was the only year he’s been legitimately bad with the bat, but he only played in 72 games. Even then, he was still worth nearly 2 WAR.

This is such a bogus stat. A catcher has no. Control over whether a pitcher throws a hanging curve or a hanging slider. Or four straight pitches in the dirt.
The teams era and overall record while Murphy was out was phenomenal.

There has never been published correlation between a catcher and a pitcher's ERA.
That is why you will see. Certain pitcher catcher combos have wild swings in ERA from year to year.

I would rather them slow play Acuna for sure. Hamstrings can easily get restrained if you try to come back too quickly.
It doesn't surprise me that math will be out. For several weeks with a broken finger. That kind of seems like an injury that would take a while to heal.

And yet, from 2023-2025 Murphy has always been significantly lower than the 2nd catcher on the roster, despite catching a similar amount of games.

I don't mind taking their time with Acuna. Hamstrings can be tricky, and where the team stands right now buys some time.
I know this was basically a freak thing, but man, Murphy stays hurt.

Murphy is a great game caller. Let's not forget him helping Waldrep last year. Dude is an S tier defensive catcher.

I'm assuming this was a mistake and the person meant to write "Acuna won't come back once he's eligible" or something similar. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

Murphy to miss 8 weeks. Just conical at this point. I wish we could have traded him for the 29th pick at the least just to clear his salary.
