I wondered about that. If they truly plan to not sign Freeman back (and we still seem to be out of it at the deadline), they would be better to trade Freddie and try to get something for him (they won’t of course). If that’s really the plan, they might as well trade Morton and any expiring...

This isn’t our year. We have had not had a “bad” year in a while. We were due for one, but dang this has been brutal. Next year will be a crucial year…this year is likely done. It’s mid June and we have been a under .500 team all the way. I don’t see that changing.

Let me rephrase that. We are fixable, but the cost of the moves at the deadline would really damage the farm (being we are very top heavy).

I’m not sure he could add enough for us to contend. This is not a “one or two players away” team. Probably just get some guys back, bring up a few young guys and hope to catch lighting in a bottle. Last year was the year…this year isn’t.

I kept telling everyone that given time…Riley has adjusted to every level and succeeded. Didn’t think he would do quite this well, but I’ll take it!!

In reality, Smyly will not start in the playoffs. He will come out of the bullpen. If he can adjust…should do very well. Hopefully he can make enough impact to justify the money spent.

As bad as the luck with the rotation was last year, we had ALOT of things break our way in other positions. We aren’t this bad, but unless some things change...we aren’t exactly a good baseball team. It doesn’t help that literally everyone we let walk are doing great this year...even Culberson.

Again. If we really have no money, the absolute monumental mistake was signing Smlyl at 11 mil. We have Ynoa, Wilson and others who pitched in the playoffs and did well last year that could hold down the fifth spot with no problem. Melancon: I’m not that big on him, but he already has four...

I would rather have Greene and Duvall than Smylylylylykylyly. I think that was THE mistake. If the budget was that tight...you just don’t spend 11 mil on a gamble when you sign Morton also.

From the infield fly rule, to Coppygate, to the AllStar game, to now this (one of many in a line of blown replay calls)...is there a team that even comes close to getting the shaft like the Braves do by MLB. I just don’t understand it. Who did we hack off and when??

First time I’ve seen Smyly this year. Not impressed for the price tag.
